AUSTSWIM Teacher of infants and Pre-school Aquatics

The course consists of theory and practical components with approximately 8 contact hours  plus supervised on the job teaching hours.
  1. Theory component - are offered through AUSTSWIM’s e-learning centre.covering:
    • Philosophy of infant and preschool aquatics
    • Early childhood development
    • Teacher, parent and child relationships
    • Health, hygiene and water safety
  2. Theory component at course:
    • Water familiarisation
    • Aquatic skill development
    • Plan, deliver and review a lesson
  3. Practical component - involves swimming activities that may be carried out in shallow or deep water.
To gain the accreditation, the following assessment components must be satisfactorily completed within 12 months of the course commencement date.
1.  Practical demonstration of teaching skills, including the preparation of lesson plans.
2.  Continuous Aquatic Sequence.
3.  On-line theory assessment.
